What are New Kent GL Style papers?

GL Assessment (previously known as the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) provides 11 plus practice papers to different private schools, grammar schools in the UK, and other local authorities. 11 Plus New Kent GL style paper is divided into two papers. They are English & Maths Paper and Reasoning Paper.

The Kent GL Style paper has a varying number of multiple-choice style questions and timings for each section. Once each section has elapsed, children will not get the opportunity to revisit a section. All answers are marked on separate answer sheets.

The GL tests are marked by an English-based company known as Granada Learning. This company is known for its rigour and high quality. As the tests are multiple-choice, they will probably be marked by a computer-linked optical reader. Marks are given as A, B1, B2, C1, C2 or D.

The length of test papers varies, although 45 minutes is the most common exam time.

Papers in the New Kent GL Style papers

English & Maths Paper:

English & Maths Paper is a multiple-choice test. You will have around one hour to complete this paper, including the practice questions and reading time. There are 2 sections in this test. There are 25 questions in each section. Each section starts with some examples showing you how to answer the questions. You will have 5 minutes to read the examples and answer some practice questions. The first section contains 11 Plus English Questions, and the second section contains 11 Plus Maths questions.

Reasoning Paper:

This is a multiple-choice test. You will have around one hour to complete this paper,
including the practice questions and reading time. There are 3 sections in this test. The time allowed for each section is given in the instructions.

The first section contains 11 Plus Verbal Reasoning questions, and the duration is 10 minutes. The second section contains 11 Plus Non-Verbal Reasoning questions, and the duration is 10 minutes.

The third section contains 11 Plus Spatial reasoning questions, and the duration is 10 minutes.
