The CSSE Exam
The CSSE (The consortium of selective schools in Essex ) Essex 11+ Test is a traditional entrance exam tests for children looking to apply for a place at one of the ten Grammar schools that are part of the consortium of selective schools in Essex. Though the questions are varied and sometimes challenging, they are similar to 11-plus tests.
Applications for the CSSE exams need to be received by mid-July. You can do this online at www.csse.org.uk.
You also need to apply to your local authority’s secondary school application form.
Usually, Exams are in mid-September.
In October, Results are out.
But now, dates may vary due to this pandemic.

The CSSE Exam Papers
The CSSE (Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex) 11+ examination consists of 2 papers. Both papers take 1 hour, and they are of equal weighting in terms of marks. Both papers are based upon Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum.
